The main transportation by many commuting from the remote towns and outskirts of the city (barrangay) are tricycles.
This photo shows a typical tricycle filled with about 10 commuters during rush hour right after the closing of the market.
Costing the passengers 10 pesos each (25 cents) this is the most affordable transportation for many. The Philippines have
a tradition of respecting their elders and in this photo it can be seen that the elder passengers are placed right behind the driver's
seat in a more safe and seemingly comfortable position. Males are usually placed in front and at the back of the tricycle to ensure
that the vehicle will be kept in balance.
