Bulanteros and Bulanteras
This photo shows a group of vendors called “bulanteros” (men) “bulanteras” (women). These vendors don't have a permanent place to sell their goods and they travel from one market to the next and are always on the go. Usually the group consists of family members who travel together in their own truck using the top of the truck as a storage area for their large baskets. The group usually displays their goods on a bamboo-made table on the side of the street or inside the marketplace. When the day is done the vendors will regroup (as seen in this photo) and partake in friendly chatter discussing the business and the streets are filled with their laughter and jovial manner.
